went to the doctor again and have now had 2 different doctors tell me I have a Slap tear in my shoulder…this is essentially where the bicep tendon goes into the shoulder around the labrem(cartridge disc in the socket of the shoulder.)…MRI next week!

February 28, 2010ok guys well the shoulder still isn’t feeling much better at all..i have spring break here in 2 weeks so i will be goin to the doctor when i get back home but for now i’m just doing alot of stretching and bodyweight stuff.
my plan for when I get back in the game is as follows…..
I am going to work back up to where I was before I got hurt(360 on 3×5 squat) from there I will be switching to a varied intermediate program since around the time i got hurt i was obviously taking longer to recover and ended up pushing myself to hard. it will look something like this:
Monday: squat 5×5 bench 4×3
Wed: Dead 1×5, Press 3×5/5×3,Squat 5×3(60% of Monday’s weight)
Friday: Squat: 3×3 bench 5×5
Saturday: Powercleans 5×3(light weight/cardio secession)

February 18, 2010so rehab starts today guys.
this is what it will look like…every single day!
squat..3 sets of 25 with bar and increase by 5 pounds every day
press…3 sets of 25 with bar and increase by 5 pounds every other day
bench… 3 sets of 25 with bar and increase by 5 ponds every day.
wish me luck…
the reasoning behind this is to simply get blood flowing through my shoulder and slowly wroking the injured area so it can not only heal but heal stronger than just not doing any thing……here is the format if ever interested…..

February 14, 2010well not lifting for 2 weeks is going to be tough…the past 5 days has been rough. I feel confident though that after i get back in the game i’m going to make some substantial gains. at least I hope so. as of now im going to post what my goals are for the Georgia southern show of strength.
squat: 450
bench: 285
dead lift 475
i’m hoping this is a reasonable outlook on what i will accomplish.

February 10, 2010so i tore something in my shoulder apparently…nothing major but i gotta take 2 weeks off entirely. i will be doing auxiliary leg lifts and just conditioning.

so much better my first set was beyond rough but i got all of them. AC then yelled at me about spreading my knees harder at the bottom and after that it was cake work.

story time:
today while the group of us were lifting we all got a really good laugh at these to kids doing bench press with 95 lbs but instead of lowering both arms at the same time they were lowering one arm at a time. so essentially picture someone bench pressing and the bar looking like a see-saw.. i busted out laughing with a few others. i kind of felt like a jerk but at the same time if your doing something that stupid you deserve it.

My grandfather always told me to endure the pain.
January 30, 2010growing up i was fortunate to have an awesome grandfather who always told me to suck it up and endure the pain. Well I lived his advice out tonight. this week has been really crappy for me with only having really lifted today with a 7 day break between today and the last time i lifted not to mention my weight is down to 175( was 183) so my strength was not entirely there tonight but i endured the back pain and in the end vaulted though the workout.
Squat:
My back has been getting better but my diet has been crappy because i have felt like such a useless human being this week. I missed my first set after 2 reps when my back cramped up again, but i wans not about to call it quits. the last 2 sets i blew through fortunately.

Press: I talked my boss into giving me one of the light wooden poles we have in the personal training room at the gym at school. So now I will be able to properly blow through my bench and presses thankfully without any pain. today was solid the only thing i need to continue to work on is just exploding my head though and not allowing the bar to bow out in front of my face.

January 27, 2010back is still pretty sore so im not lifting again today so i decided to just eat extra food untill i can get back in the gym…
