so as soon as I started my first work set for squats i tweaked my back pretty bad. had to immediately re-rack the weight and couldn’t do squats or shoulder press at all hopefully it is better by Wednesday.

January 21, 2010today I lifted with AC and some other guys that are alot bigger than me.
Squat:
right to the point…..AC brought my stance in a bit more narrow than I am used to and drilled the concept of spreading my knees at the bottom of the squat. I expected todays weight to be easy because its 25 pounds less than monday but changing my stance I was able to feel more of a rebound.

So AC basically said that my form was crap so he tried to fix it still not sure I entirely got it but I hit all reps solid again cause I dropped 45 lbs to re-set after stalling at 145lbs.

Squats:
I dropped down to 335 today work my way through a wall. the reps felt pretty good but after watching the videos I need to drop my hips about 2-3 inches more to get full hip drive. none the less I hit all my reps as expected but it was actually tough because I was still sore from the previous workout.

Deads:
decided to hit deads today to play around with sumo dead lifts versus conventional. been reading alot about the differences and it seems that neither are better but depends on what is most comfortable. as for me getting the bar off the floor is harder with sumos but easier to lockout and conventional are easier to get moving but harder to lockout. I think Im gonna throw in a day of sumos every now and again to see what I like.

January 13, 2010so today was difficult to swallow….this was the first time since I started this program that I was sore the following workout from the previous workout. maybe it is the diet or maybe its just the fact that I have hit a wall. Im don’t know b/c I honestly don’t know how to put down any more calories.
Squats:
this is another place I think I have come to stall at. I only hit 2 set at 3 reps each with my goal weight of today and then 3 reps at an even lower weight. I’m hoping I recover by Friday to reattempt 365 as I really want 8 plates soon. but mabe its time to drop 10 percent which means start at 325 and work back up.

squats were brutal but i got them all. Taylor suggested I start making 5 pound jumps each workout instead of 10 because my rep speed is slowingdown considerbly…none the less I hit em all today.

well i was pretty drained from squats today so bench was slacking off. I got 3 on my first set then bumped down..I think It is time to drop 10% and work my way back up as I have been stalled for a while so next bench secession I will be at 225 and working my way back up over the next few weeks.

Finally got to have a dead lift secession today so I was pumped for that. However form has gone to crap..just a few minor things to focus on.. I wasn’t expecting to pull much due to the month that I have had away from them but I cant say I was happy either I just barely missed my last rep at lockout due to form issues.

January 9, 2010not even going to post about today other than to say it was the worst day of lifting I have ever had. no joke….was attempting 360x5x3 for squats and hit the first few rep solid then it all went to the crapper…literally….I try to eat like 1.5 hours before I lift and then a pice of fruit and protein drink 45 min before i head to the gym but today i was in a time crunch and ate an hour before I lifted and the food just didnt have time to digest i guess….long story short i completed all 5 reps on the first set but with the last to I pretty much had to swallow my puke back down. then after that I hit 3 with the same feeling. then just one rep for the last set…extreamly pissed cause I felt like it was gonna be cakework the day before but just couldn’t make it to the gym so i had to push it back to today. I started to do shoulderpress when I finished with what I can only call a failure of a squat secession and quickly called it a day. Monday WILL be better.

January 5, 2010so today will be the last day i workout back in Woodstock. I leave for Statesboro tomorrow morning after I get few fillings. but as for today i am happy/disappointed.
squat:
went extremely well. the first set was a little shaky but after that I hound my grove. everything felt great with hip drive,depth and keeping my knees from caving in. only a few after the first set were a bit rocky.

bench could have been a little better today but i’m not totally disappointed. I missed my last rep in the first set at my goal weight but it just was not happening today. I’m pretty sure I gave everything all to my squats cause the weight just felt extra heavy today for some reason. even after lowering the weight for the next 2 sets I struggled but im pretty confident i’ll get it next bench day.

obviously I havent been keeping up with deadlifts mainly because I have nowhere to do them but as soon as i get back to Statesboro they should be moving up plenty quickly.
also I havent weighed myself since the last time when I was 168ish today I toped out at 178.8….so much for a 165 weight class should I ever decide to compete.lol

January 2, 2010well today was pretty sweet it will be the last day with wraps for a while until i get back to school.never the less it has been sweet working out with Brooks this past week. the atmosphere in his garage is a heck of alot better then WOW not to mention we have similar goals so i don’t have to take crap from annoying trainers.lol
squat:
felt solid today….i was wrapping my own knees today as i need to learn how to do it any ways and on the last set i think i did a pretty decent job with them as it was surprisingly my best set. my knees caved in a bit on my first set but i fixed that by taking a mental note. New PR as well.

bench was as to be expected. I never expect munch on the last day of bench simply caus emy previous workout was soulder press and my shoulders dont recover very fast. non the less i felt solid with form and brining the bar backwards like brooks mentioned last time I benched.
